Welcome to Namma Bengaluru

“The name change for bangalore will give it the feel of Kannada. Maharastra changed the name of Bombay to Mumbai, west Bengal changed Calcutta to Kolkata, Tamil Nadu changed madras to Chennai, and we are also doing to the same thing”. I read this in the newspaper today morning and couldn’t help swearing foul mouthed choosy words on the decision and imagining the resource it will take to get the job done. Oh yes bangalore will be "bengaluru" from november 1st 2006 :).After reading it immediately the image of the road which has been dug recently near my area came to my mind. Interesting thing is that there is one sign board which says BMTC work in progress. Trust me all I have seen in recent days is more digging. And so did many broken thoughts about the government making claims about developing Bangalore come to my mind.
And one question which always comes to my mind always is that where is the logic in their comments, how jobless one can get that they are tussling to get the name changed of the city not to mention so many millions of rupees will go wasted in the process of changing the name to “Bengaluru” from Bangalore. I mean there is so much work to be done in Bangalore to get the image of the city right that government will be busy round the clock but here they are changing the name of the city in the name of heritage and culture.

The funny part is that every question which has been raised regarding the problems about the infrastructure has been fended off by minister saying three standard comments
1: Bangalore international airport is coming up very soon(gods know when it will be completed)
2: flyover are built through out the city(I know few flyovers which are not yet completed and work is going on for last 4 years)
3: we are working on this problem and will be solved very soon(minister have good sense of humour, this statement confirms it).

Well you ask any question from water to electricity u will get the same answer again and again till you start memorizing this answer and stop asking the question simple.

One funny incident which I would like to tell is that yesterday while coming back home from “wonderla” is that I lost my way and entered on 100 m stretch of road where four wheeler where going. Two police men jumped in front of my bike from no where and asked this is no entry zone for two wheelers and auto and before I could even say one word they continued telling me that there is one way sign board some 50 m back so I need to pay fine.
Well I smiled, took my wallet and gave them 100 bucks and asked him just one question “Sir if you know that bikes will enter in this road so why don’t you stand in the beginning of road and stop bikes from entering road, guess even you need to do new year shopping“ he was speechless and the anger in his face was “priceless”.

Well again I don’t want to blame anyone here for this condition of my city and I wont be the one to start a revolution but I know the whole fault lies in fact that “there is no selfless deed in this world” (my personal opinion) and the degree of corruption varies according the level of society and country. We are developing country and the corruption shows that people are desperate to grow…hehehehe relax people I am just kidding in fact I still have the firm hope in this city and in this country but sometimes statement like this which I read in today newspaper shakes my hope.:)
